Description
Vanadinite on Barite from Mibladen, Morocco
Vanadinite (PbVOCl) on Barite/Baryte(BaSO) is a great specimen for you if you’re collecting elements, being both a good sample of Vanadium and Barium. First discovered in Mexico in 1801, Vanadinite got its name for having such a high Vanadium composition at 10.8%, and the same with Barite, both in name and rough time of discovery, but its name comes from the Greek, βαρύς, romanized as barús, meaning ‘heavy’. Both are elements you might be able to find somewhere on every Continent, or you could get this specific rock
