Barite #93

A cool, clear and cloudy white, 4.1 gram Barite Crystal that was just unearthed this year from the Sirius Mine, near Grand Junction, Colorado.

Slight Kaolinite inclusions caused this to be a bit cloudy in spots, but it’s pretty clear in other spots! It has a cool, flat, crystal face on the bottom and it a termination at the top, a bit of an Ankerite/Dolomite/Shale matrix at the bottom, and a slight rusty spotting in the epimorph indentations… it’s a really cool rock!
