Undoubtedly the most radioactive rock at ColoRockCo, Samarskite (Y,Fe,U,Th,Ca,Nb,Ta,O) is a rock you don’t want to keep in your pocket for a long time, let kids play with, and especially, lick or inhale. Unless you’re an element collector or a serious rock collector who knows how to be safe with this, there’s really no reason you should bring this home. However, if you’re sure, you can head to ColoRockCo.com. This was claimed to have come from Buffalo, Colorado, not really sure where that is. But it’s found all over Colorado, primarily in Pegmatites, and it’s worth knowing what it looks like so you can avoid this one.
